Who singer and guitarist Pete Townshend is at it again. The 64 year old musician is currently working on a new rock opera entitled Floss. Pete Townshend, who once said that he hopes he dies before he gets old, is writing about the process of getting old and coming to terms with it. In the process, Townshend is facing his own mortality. Pete was once said that when he looks in the mirror he no longer sees a young man, but now sees a dried up old prune.
As he did with Tommy and Quadrophenia before he is in talks with New York producers to create a stage show featuring the songs of Floss for a 2011 production date. Tommy and Quadrophenia also were produced on film. Based on the success of the stage show and depending on Townshend's feelings, there may be a chance that Floss will be produced on film.
This latest creation by Townshend promises to be a real eye opener as it will allow the listener to not only see Townshend's mortality, but realize his or her own mortality through Townshend's words and imagery.
The songs of Floss will be featured on the Who's next album scheduled for a 2010 release.

New Projects for The Who
Roger Daltry is embarking on his first solo North American tour on October 10th in Vancouver Canada. This is his first solo tour since 1994. Roger's band includes Simon Townshend, brother of bandmate, Pete Townshend. Roger promises that he will be playing a lot of Who material, but in his "own way" along with some of his past solo material. Hopefully, this will include Under a Raging Moon, which is a tribute to Keith Moon. It is reported that he will include an acoustic version of the Who's "Who Are You".
Pete Townshend is also working on material for a new rock opera, FLOSS. He plans on releasing this material in a new Who album in 2010. The Who's last album, Endless Wire (released in 2006) also included a mini-rock opera entitled Wire and Glass. Pete Townshend is famous for penning two previous rock operas with The Who, Tommy and Quadrophenia.
